Religious Views on Donation
People often wonder how their religion views organ donation. Most major faiths approve of donation and, in fact, consider it the ultimate act of goodwill and human kindness. Others support an individual's right to make a donation decision.
Additional resources on religion and organ donation can be found at the US Department of Health and Human Services website.
National Donor Sabbath
Each year, two weekends before Thanksgiving, congregations and faith community across the country celebrate "National Donor Sabbath." This is a time to give thanks for those who have given the gift of life, rejoice with those who have received, and pray for those who are still waiting their second chance at life.
