Representative Joe Hune
Republican/Hamburg Township Representative Joe Hune was recognized for his sponsorship of Public Act 176 of 2005, a law to enable organ and tissue donation to occur in a timely manner during medical examiner cases of donation.
When a medical examiner in Saginaw recently denied a 5-month-old potential organ donation case, Hune immediately acted to promote his bill which resulted in several lives to be saved by this infant boy, Kyle Ray Horning.
As a result of Hune's efforts, Governor Granholm signed the bill into law. Gift of Life Michigan thanks Representative Hune for his service to the cause of organ and tissue donation.
