Support groups around Michigan help those who are awaiting organ transplants, and those who have been through transplantation, to live full and active lives.
Some groups focus on emotional and medical support; some actively promote organ, tissue and eye donation to the general public. Some are led by hospital staff, some by volunteer boards.
Most support groups consist of pre- and post-transplant patients and their caregivers; some also include donor families, living donors and those supporters without a personal connection to transplantation.
